"Pessimist" - Vinyl
Description
Abaddon incarnate - "Pessimist"
Recorded live in just two days (June 8-9 2013 at The Hive Studios, Ireland), Pessimist captures the band’s signature chaos with a new level of precision. Produced and mixed by James Eager and mastered by Brad Boatright (Audiosiege), the record embodies relentless speed, savage riffs, and cavernous vocals while maintaining a raw, organic edge.Across 14 tracks and roughly 36 minutes, Abaddon Incarnate fuse grindcore ferocity with dense death-metal heaviness. Songs like “Warping the Necro Spawn”, “Broken Spectre”, and “Morbid Epiphany” showcase dynamic tempo shifts and bleak atmospheres, while shorter bursts such as “Solstice of Homicide” and “Nameless Grave” deliver pure aggression in under two minutes.
Critics praised Pessimist for refining the band’s brutality without losing authenticity — a record that stands as a bridge between their rawer early sound (Nadir, Dark Crusade) and the heavier, more technical era that followed with The Wretched Sermon.
