Abaddon Incarnate – “Nadir”
"Two decades later, it still sounds like the end of the world."Recorded between July 13–27, 2001 at Soundlab Studios, Örebro (Sweden) and produced by the late Mieszko Talarczyk (Nasum) — who also lent his unmistakable roar to “Where’s My Axe?” — Nadir captures the perfect storm of rage, precision, and nihilistic energy that defined a generation of grindcore.
Across 24 tracks, Nadir delivers a ferocious wall of sound — chaotic blast beats, dissonant riffing, and guttural dual vocals merge into an atmosphere of complete annihilation. The production captures the raw urgency of early-2000s grindcore while maintaining the precision and intensity that became Abaddon Incarnate’s hallmark.
The bleak, sepia-toned cover art by Paul McCarroll mirrors the album’s descent into decay, despair, and existential collapse. Lyrically and musically, Nadir explores the darker edges of human experience — from rage and desolation to self-destruction and transcendence.
Two decades later, Nadir remains a cult-level cornerstone of European extreme metal – praised for its balance between sheer brutality and precise musicianship.
